Super simple spice rub for grilling
Author: Jean Layton
Recipe type: chicken, grilled, dinner, lunch
Serves: 8
Ingredients
1 tablespoon cumin
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 tablespoon tumeric
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon ginger powder
¼ teaspoon lemon peel or sumac powder
3 tablespoons of olive oil
2 pounds of chicken-we used legs and wings but feel free to use breasts or thighs
Instructions
Stir together well.
rub chicken with olive oil
rub spice mix onto chicken.
Let the meat rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.
If you want to prep before a work day, just pop it in the fridge.
Make sure to allow it to come to room temp before grilling to insure even cooking
Notes

The same spice mix works well on fish.

Now that the temperature is finally above 75, the barbque is on fire daily. My hubs loves the taste of grilled food, that smoky background to the sweetness of the meat.
It isn’t the place for tomatoy sticky sauce
Ed likes to make a simple spice rub, then allow the grill to do its magic.

Enjoy!
